New Optical Electronics Player! Lightel-KY Approved for Emerging Stock Market Listing
The Taipei Exchange (TPEx) today (3rd) approved the listing application of Lightel-KY (Ticker: 7717). The company specializes in the R&D and sales of passive components for fiber optic communication, fiber lasers, satellite laser communication, as well as smart lighting products. The paid-in capital at the time of application was NT$215 million.
While the listing review has been approved, final permission for trading still requires a resolution by the company’s Board of Directors.
Lightel-KY’s core business includes the development, manufacturing, and sales of passive optical components, fiber end-face inspection instruments, fiber component manufacturing equipment, and smart lighting systems.
The chairman of the company is Mr. Cheng-Ming Ou, and the appointed corporate representative is Mr. Jen-Chieh Ou. The paid-in capital is NT$215 million.
In 2023, Lightel-KY recorded consolidated revenue of NT$692 million, net income after tax of NT$72 million, and earnings per share (EPS) of NT$3.23.
In Q1 of 2024, consolidated revenue was NT$203 million, net income after tax was NT$27 million, and EPS was NT$1.24.
Lightel-KY is part of the Lightel Group, which was founded in 1999 in Seattle, USA. Formerly known as Lightel Technologies Inc. (Cayman), the group completed a corporate restructuring in 2022 to formally establish Lightel-KY as the listed holding company. In 2023, a Taiwan branch of Lightel Technologies Inc. (Cayman) was established.
